Hi, I'm Chloe, and welcome to The Little Lamb Store ❤️
The Little Lamb Store started towards the end of 2020, when my little boy, Edward, was two.
I'd been looking for some lovely personalised clothes for him and had fallen completely in love with all of the beautiful hand knitted and embroidered pieces I was seeing online. The only problem was... they were expensive! So, naturally, I thought I'd have a go myself. 🤣
My mother-in-law taught me how to chain stitch, I bought some wool and hand knitted cardigans, and I just started embroidering for friends and family. I definitely didn't know what I was doing to begin with, but I loved it. One little knit turned into another, and before I knew it, people were asking if they could buy them too. And somehow, here we are nearly six years later!
So, what is The Little Lamb Store?
Quite simply, I make lovely things for little people that I would want to buy for my own children. ❤️Everything is about those little details that make something feel extra special. A name beautifully embroidered onto a cardigan, a favourite colour combination, a secret nickname, a cute little sheep, a Liberty collar or a completely random idea that we've somehow turned into a knit.I honestly don't think there is a much lovelier gift than something that has been made especially for a child. So much time, thought and love goes into every piece, and I hope that comes across when you receive yours!The knits 🧶Although I do the embroidery and all of the personalisation myself, I don't actually knit the clothes! I work with a small group of lovely ladies here in the UK who hand knit the pieces for The Little Lamb Store. They are incredibly talented and, for the most part, they have creative freedom to make whatever they fancy, which is one of my favourite things about the business.. seeing what they come up with! It means that there are always lots of different colours, patterns and little ideas appearing, and no two pieces ever feel exactly the same.I also offer made to order knits, so if you see something you love but need a different size or would prefer it in another colourway, just drop me a message. I'll always do my best to make it happen. 🫶🏼A little bit about me...I'm Chloe, and I'm based in Solihull in the West Midlands with my partner and our two children, Edward and Indie. Edward is now nearly eight, which is actually insane considering he was only two when this whole thing started! Indie is two and has, quite literally, grown up around piles of wool and tiny cardigans. 😂 She will always be my best model! You'll see lots of photos of her in one of her 5000 cardigans I'm sure!
Alongside The Little Lamb Store, I also have a full-time job, so this little business is very much fitted in around real life. School runs, Edwards football, work, the house, family life and whatever else is going on that week! I'll be completely honest... it's not always easy. There are weeks where I'm desperately trying to take photos, answer messages, finish orders, upload things to the website and remember that I'm supposed to be posting on Instagram, all while doing the school run and working my actual job. 🫠 Social media is usually the first thing to get dropped, and then I remember that people can't buy the lovely things I've made if they don't know they're there! 🤣But I wouldn't change it 🥰
The Little Lamb Store has grown so much from that little chance I took when Edward was two, and I'm incredibly lucky that there are so many of you who have followed along, ordered something, recommended me to a friend, sent me photos of your little ones wearing their knits or simply liked and commented on a post. It genuinely means so much.
